In Memory of Debbie
Deborah Ann Olmsted (née Flaherty), born December 22, 1955, age 63, passed peacefully with her family on June 4, 2019. Daughter of the late John and Phyliss Flaherty, Debbie is survived by her husband Gordon; her four children Scott, Emily Michele, Alexandra (spouse Charles), and Jennifer; her five siblings Jack Flaherty, Rick Flaherty (Jody), Michael Flaherty (Karen), Michele McCarthy (Jack), and Nancy Tehan (Andy); and her five dogs Regina, Flossie, Bubs, Leo, and Arya.
Debbie was a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend who filled everyone’s life with love, laughter, and walks. Formerly of West Hartford, she graduated from Northwest Catholic High School (74) and Niagara University (78). She worked as a critical care nurse in Boston and Hartford before moving to Cape Cod where she served as an integral part of the West Falmouth Veterinary Clinic and volunteered at local charities including Big Brother Big Sister, the Falmouth Service Center, and the Emerson House. She enjoyed her time as an avid equestrian, gardener, and cook, and always made room for one more at her dinner table. Debbie loved animals, hated traffic, and did many lifetimes’ worth of good in her time with us.
In lieu of other contributions, please donate to Big Brother Big Sister.
